Scheldeoord multipurpose pontoon
It is strong and flexible at the same time: the Scheldeoord multipurpose pontoon. Its length of 60 metres and width of 15 metres make it unique in the Netherlands. The Scheldeoord has a reinforced working deck with 30 millimetre steel over its entire length. This allows the pontoon to carry a 250-tonne excavator at both the front and rear.
The Scheldeoord is therefore not only robust: Despite its size, the Scheldeoord can manoeuvre very precisely by means of thrusters (rotating rudder propellers in a special casing), also at nearshore areas. Thrusters have been installed in the undersurface of the Scheldeoord, at both the front and rear. These allow the pontoon to manoeuvre independently on site. In addition, the Scheldeoord has four spud poles, one of which is a step pole that can ‘walk’. This pole can be used to move the pontoon in steps of 8 metres.

By using the Scheldeoord, we can offer a big variety of solutions. One of them is by using our 3-in-1 multitool for UXO activitites. This multitool is specially designed for dredging material as well as for detecting and grabbing suspicious objects on war remnants in one move, after they have been detected as safe.
