KRAMMEROORD

For all the work on and near water, Martens en Van Oord has a large number of pontoons available. A pontoon of the correct size can be assembled for any application. The only thing still missing in the floating equipment fleet was a pontoon with a width of 5 coupling pontoons. A pontoon this wide is required to provide stability for the weight class of the Caterpillar 374 Long Reach. Based on these starting points, the Krammeroord dredging pontoon was assembled.

The Krammeroord is mainly used to work with the Caterpillar 374 Long Reach. This excavator functions equally well with a regular bucket, with a grab and with a DOP pump. Not every standard excavator can drive a DOP pump; the fact that we can do so with this crane is really special. This makes the Krammeroord highly suitable for excavating dredging spoil by means of a DOP pump. The Krammeroord is a fully-fledged work pontoon for which the Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate has issued a provisional Inland Navigation Certificate. This certificate is legally required for a vessel or piece of floating equipment on inland waters in Europe and is only issued if it complies with the regulations set, which are based on the Rhine navigation regulations.
